Plastcs Injection technologies

The molding method selection depends on form, details and size of final product, type of material, dimensional accuracy, surface finish and quantity production rate.
Industrias LEP utilizes injection, transfer and compression molding technologies, providing a wide range of efficient solutions to meet your molding needs.

Compression moulding

Compression moulding is a technique in which the molding material - in powder form - is placed in a heated mold cavity to a temperature between 140º C and 160º C, and put under high pressure. Heat and pressure are maintained until the reaction is complete. After some minutes - determined by the piece thickness - the molding material has plastized and cured within the same mold and the finished piece is removed.

This molding method is used to produce electrical switch and fuse boxes, domestic electrical equipment microwave containers and tableware, business machine housings, gas and electricity meter housing, among other applications.

Transfer moulding

The process is similar to compression moulding, with the difference that the molding material is preheated before being placed in the mold and it is transferred hydraulically. This system is used generally in molds with intricate movements and inserts.

Injection moulding

The molding material is placed in a hopper, falling by gravity into the machine. The material is injected by pressure in a closed mold through a heated screw. The mold has a lower temperature than the injected material. After a few seconds, the piece is finished and removed.
The pressure of injection is high, dependant on the material being processed.

Dehumidifying process

It is a process in which humidity of the molding material is levelled using an automatic system. Humidity levels depend on the type of material and product being processed.

All the hydroscopic raw materials must be put under dehumidifying processes.

Mold heater control systems

These temperature controllers are used to increase or diminish the temperature of the mold during the premolding process.

The temperature that must reach the mold in this instance depends on the raw material that is being processed. In most cases the information on the premolded temperature is determined by the manufacturer.

All plastics must be processed using heater control systems.
